Our club committee Team are all volunteers who are privilaged to steer the club by assesing what the members want and putting actions in place to serve the members objectives.

COMMITTEE ROLES EXPLAINED

  • The Chairperson leads the club committee while giving guidance and direction. This role is also an integral part of identifying the reasons each member has joined the club and where possible, steering the activities in a way that meets each members aims.

    The Chairperson has the ultimate responsibility to ensure all club activities are carried out in a safe environment at all times.

    A suitable person for this role is someone who has ample kayaking experience and knowledge who can easily make good decisions based on safety, enjoyment and skills development.

    The Chairperson will plan and attend committee meetings, steer the direction of the club and oversee the management of all aspects of the club

  • The Secretary will look after all the Clubs’ administration like replying to emails, keep records of all club-related documentation, liaise with members notifying them of important information like upcoming meetings, changes in policies, etc.

    The Secretary will attend committee meetings - recording minutes, etc.

  • The Treasurer keeps detailed records of all club financial affairs including transactions, balances and upcoming expenses. This role includes being aware of upcoming expenses and ensuring the funds are available to pay expenses. The Treasurer will have access to all club financial accounts and will be responsible for ensuring club expenses are paid in a timely fashion.

    The Treasurer attends all committee meetings while providing full financial statements.

  • The Juniors representative is responsible for overseeing the entire juniors section of the club. This includes all aspects of child protection and safety. The person in this role will be responsible for managing communication between junior members and their parents. The Juniors representative will plan all juniors activities ensuring they are carried out with safety, enjoyment and learning as priorities.
